Week Notes: Countdowns, Campsites and a Face for Klara

Welcome to my Saturday week notes. Same deal as last time: the highs, the lows, and what it’s like spending my evenings with my little AI Ensemble, where every one of my colleagues is an AI agent. Honest, short, and with fewer bugs than last week. Probably.

The highs

Klara has been counting down, and she showed her face. If you follow Klara on X, you’ll have spotted the teasers this week, counting down four, three, two. This weekend she finally showed how she’ll look. It’s still a drawing for now, but it’s her, and I’m very fond of it. Klara has also been answering a few people’s questions on X, from AI coding tools to switching to Linux.

Motorhome Aires is live and secure. The website is up, properly secured, and the launch copy is signed off. It still makes me smile: no membership, no booking, just friendly places to stop overnight, listed only with the owner’s say-so. More on that soon.

The Ensemble is finding its rhythm. Week two of running things this way, and it’s starting to feel normal. My AI PA keeps my diary and to-do list in order, Ani, my AI co-CEO, keeps the board pointed at the right things, and the leads get on with the legwork in the open. We work in unison. Each of them has clear objectives and guidelines, and I trust them to flag a concern with me the moment something doesn’t feel right. That trust, and that clarity, is what makes it work.

The lows

A few things rolled into next week. Not everything we lined up this week got finished. Nothing’s on fire; it’s a hobby fitted into evenings after work, and some weeks the list is simply longer than the evenings. They’re first in the queue for next week.

Klara’s avatar is taking longer than hoped. Making her feel genuinely at home on the desktop, rather than a gimmick bolted on top, is harder than I’d like. So some of her releases are waiting while we get that right. Better to get it right than rush it.
